Homemade Dog Treats

If your family is anything life ours, then you have one or even a few pets that are a BIG part of your family. We know our families wouldn’t be complete with out our furry friends and today we decided to whip up a special Christmas treat just for our pups.

These SIMPLE and EASY treats are a great gift for dogs of all sizes. We even decided to dip them in some yogurt and freeze them to make them taste extra special.  (Although the yogurt didn’t hold up as well as we’d hoped, they were still adorable and doggie approved.)

They really were so fun to make and only require 3 ingredients you probably already have in your home.

Here’s what you’ll need:

1 banana

1 cup peanut butter

1 cup oats

Yogurt (optional)

cookie cutter

parchment paper

Mix the banana and peanut butter in a large bowl until smooth. Next, using a food processor grind up the oats until a powder forms. Set aside 2 tablespoons of the powder for later. Add the remainder of the powder to the bowl and mix until dough forms.

Sprinkle the 2 tablespoons of powder over your countertop and roll out dough about 1/4-1/3 inch thick. Using your desired cookie cuter, cut shapes for the treats.

Place dog treats on baking sheet lined with Parchment paper. Bake at 350 for 15 minutes (or until golden brown.) Cool. Once cooled, dip the dog treat in yogurt and place in the freezer for 45 minutes.

*Be sure to let the dog treats cool completely before feeding to your dog and before adding the yogurt if you choose to. The treats will keep for up to a week*

Bag them up and take them to your favorite 4 legged friend or skip the bag and give them to your puppy right away. Either way they’ll be a hit!

That’s it!!

With LOVE,

Alanna, Natalie & Lyndsie
